It's a shame that I get a better experience on my 5 year old PC with a 980 Ti than on the shiny new Stadia. 1920x1080 - A cool evening with beautiful sky. Red Dead Redemption 2 or Warzone run fine for me. I don't understand how Google Stadia, with its 10 tera flops of GPU power (equivalent to a geforce 2080), can't play that game at 1440p 60 FPS. It's a selection of settings going from medium to ultra, and the game still looks gorgeous and better than on consoles. I was very disappointed to learn that RDR2 only runs at 30 FPS at 1440p! So I bought the game on the Rockstar store instead, and by tweaking the settings, I can reach FPS constantly.
The problem was, that in some scenarios, changing the settings didn’t do anything. The performance optimization was sub-par and the game ran performed poorly even on the most powerful graphics cards. I replaced the graphics card by a geforce 980 Ti, so I can still play the recent games 1440p and close to 60 FPS with carefully tweaking medium/high settings. Only my native display resolution (3840x2160) fills the entire screen up, 1440p or 1080p the window is super small and makes it impossible to play on a 15 inch.
My initial goal when buying Stadia was to not have to pay 1500 euros to update my 5 year old gaming PC.
